Small Trash Cans
Small trash cans are extremely versatile and can be used for a wide variety of purposes. They can be used all over the house. When people think about kitchen trash bins, they often picture the standard 13 gallon garbage bin. However, many people actually prefer small kitchen trash cans to these larger bins. For one thing, they are easier to hide from view, in places like under the sink. Or they can be easily tucked into a corner. Small metal trash cans are especially good for this purpose.

The kitchen, however, isn’t the only place for an under-sized trash can. Most of the time, these are found in places like bathrooms, bedrooms, and home offices. Safco trash cans and United Receptacle trash cans are particularly good for these purposes.
One of the best things about small waste baskets is the sheer amount of options available to you. You might want a metal bin, a woven basket, or perhaps a sturdy wood container. Maybe you just want a simple plastic trash can? Maybe you want something really funky and outrageous that really gets your guests talking, like a hot pink or bright orange trash can! You can also customize each of your small trash cans to the particular room that it is in. Many people find the process of choosing these trash cans to be more fun and relaxed than picking a kitchen trash can. A kitchen trash can is often more expensive and is bigger. It is often the centerpiece of the entire kitchen! That doesn’t have to be so with small trash cans. They can humbly sit in the corner dutifully acting as a tiny container to collect your garbage.
When people speak of small trash cans, there are actually many different sizes they might be referring to. Basically, your options are so unlimited, that it’s not even worth listing. For example you could get a 1 gallon trash can, 1.5 gallon, 2 gallon, 2.5 gallon, 3 gallon, 5 gallon, 1.5 liter, etc. etc. etc. Basically, if you need a certain size, for whatever reason, some company no doubt makes it.
However, I would focus less on a specific numerical capacity and focus more on what fits in with the overall décor and design of the particular room in which you are planning to place the bin.
Usually I recommend a lid for most trash cans, especially kitchen containers. However, most people opt not to have these on small trash cans, and that is perfectly understandable. You usually won’t be throwing away food or other smelly waste items in your small trash cans, so there is really no reason for this. However, if you’re planning on getting a small can for your kitchen, you definitely want to consider one. There are many really cool small bullet trash cans on the market these days which I think are absolutely fantastic looking. You might want to check into these, especially if you want a classic, elegant small bin with a lid.
